HOLLAND, MI., September 10, 2024 – Jolt Energy Storage Technologies, an all-organic energy storage solution company, has hired Andrii Varenikov as Senior Research Chemist. In his new role, Varenikov will be focused on advancing long-term performance of Jolt’s energy storage compounds.

Varenikov earned his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology and holds his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in organic chemistry from Karazin Kharkiv National University in Ukraine. He contributes valuable insights from his previous work experience as an organic chemist specializing in synthetic methodology, small molecule synthesis, reaction mechanism investigation and reaction troubleshooting.

Before joining the Jolt team, Varenikov conducted research on the development of organic molecules for redox flow batteries at the University of Utah. Varenikov’s proficiency in structure-property optimization and ability to leverage data enhances Jolt’s capacity to innovate grid-scale organic energy solutions.

“I love a complex problem,” said Varenikov. “When you have a real-world application, it makes it much more rewarding to solve important, complex problems.”

Varenikov relocated to Holland, MI for the position. When he’s not pursuing research in the lab, Varenikov is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys cycling, hiking, climbing and travel.
